Family Fun across the city
Endless blue skies, sandy beaches and star-studded attractions make Los Angeles the perfect escape for the young, and the young at heart. The big hitters of Disneyland Resort California and Universal Studios Hollywood are just a short drive away, while the walkable boulevards of Beverly Hills reveal something different around every corner.
From its position in the heart of the Golden Triangle, The Maybourne Beverly Hills offers up family fun in buckets and spades. A number of self-guided walking tours begin at the hotel, taking in the city’s cultural highlights and celebrity hotspots. Along the way there are child-friendly alfresco dining and sweet stop-offs, to keep little legs going throughout the day.
Sparks of creativity
Situated in City Hall, Beverly Hills Fire Department offers a fascinating glimpse into municipal life, with tours running Monday to Friday. Visitors can take a seat aboard the iconic red fire trucks, see the station in action and talk to members of the crew. Larger groups need to book ahead – which our concierge team would love to help you with – but families can simply stop by from 10am to 11.30am, and 1pm to 4pm for a 30-minute show around.
Also firing the imagination, Color Me Mine is a paint-your-own pottery studio on nearby South Beverly Drive. Everything’s provided to help shape a treasured take-home memento, with ready-made ceramics, stencils and stamps that are tailor-made for budding creatives.

For a brief break from the bustle of Beverly Hills, the Maze Rooms Hollywood is one of the top-rated escape rooms in the city. Designed for two to eight players, a number of themed rooms challenge participants to find their way out of topsy-turvy worlds and ancient ruins. With just 60 minutes to solve the clues, families will need to work together in this theatrical, immersive experience.
